Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, Empuraan is an upcoming action thriller, a sequel to the 2019 film Lucifer. Mohanlal returns as Khureshi-Ab'ram/Stephen Nedumpally, alongside Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, and Tovino Thomas.

 

 

The film narrates Stephen Nedumpally's story and his transformation into Khureshi Ab'ram, the head of a global criminal organisation. Mohanlal took on the role of Stephen Nedumpally, a politician, in Lucifer. However, a twist is revealed in the mid-credit scene, exposing his dual identity as Khureshi Ab’ram.

 

 Aashirvad Cinemas, Lyca Productions, and Prithviraj Productions are jointly producing the film. Deepak Dev is in charge of the music, and Sujith Vasudev is handling the cinematography.
