JAILER

Jailer is a 2023 Indian Tamil action-comedy film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, supported by Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, Sunil, Mirnaa Menon, and Yogi Babu. Guest appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff add to the star-studded cast.

The story revolves around Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a retired jailer leading a happy life with his family. However, his world shatters when his son, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, goes missing while probing the disappearance of temple idols. Muthuvel sets out on a mission to confront Varma, the mastermind behind the large-scale smuggling operation, determined to avenge his son.

The music for Jailer was created by Anirudh Ravichander, with Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal taking charge of cinematography and editing. The film was released in theatres on August 10, 2023.
